Wealthsimple offers 3x CDIC insurance coverage

TORONTO, ON (May 17, 2023) - Wealthsimple, the financial services company on a mission to help Canadians achieve financial freedom, today announced it is tripling CDIC deposit insurance on clients' funds their Cash accounts, up to $300,000.

This new coverage limit is designed to help Wealthsimple clients feel more secure and confident that their savings are protected.

Previously, Canadians looking for more than $100,000 in deposit protection on their cash would have to open multiple bank accounts with CDIC member institutions — a time-consuming hassle. However, by working with several CDIC member institutions to hold cash deposits in trust, Wealthsimple is expanding CDIC coverage for our clients up to $300,000.
